We are a group of interdisciplinary scholars who have been hosting a community-based film series since 2015. Since the series’ inception, our programming team has grown to include seven co-organizers, representing Human Development and Family Sciences, Classics, Film Studies, and Creative Writing and Literature. The strength of our interdisciplinary collaboration comes from synthesizing our diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives and content expertise, while also energizing and informing our collective pedagogy, research, and praxis.

From its inception, the purpose of this film series was to carve out a public space to engage in meaningful discussions about contemporary issues from an intersectional perspective, with a focus on combatting myths about gendered sexual and relationship violence.
